Compress video online, privately in your browser
Reduce MP4 and MOV file size locally in your browser — your video is not uploaded for compression.
About this tool
What does this video compressor do?
Video compression re-encodes a video so it takes up less storage space and less bandwidth to send or stream, while keeping the video watchable at a similar resolution. Priconvert does this locally in your browser using a balanced H.264 preset — your original file is read, re-encoded on your device, and never uploaded to a server for the compression itself.
This is useful whenever a video file is larger than a platform, email provider, or messaging app allows, or when you simply want a smaller file to store or share without exporting from a full video editor.
Supported formats and compatibility
Priconvert accepts .mp4 and .mov source files. The output is always a standard .mp4 file using the H.264 video codec, which plays back in virtually every modern browser, phone, and operating system without extra codecs or plugins.
This release focuses on a single balanced quality preset and processes one video at a time, up to the size limit shown above. Support for adjustable presets and batch processing may be added in a future update.
How it works
How video compression works
A straightforward local workflow — no account, no upload queue, and no server-side file handling.
- 1
Choose your video
Select or drag in an .mp4 or .mov file up to 100.00 MB. The file stays on your device — nothing uploads yet.
- 2
Compression runs locally
Priconvert loads a local video engine in your browser and re-encodes your video with a balanced H.264 preset. Your file is not sent to Priconvert for compression.
- 3
Review the result
Compare the original and compressed file size, and preview the compressed video before downloading.
- 4
Download your MP4
Save the compressed MP4 to your device. Priconvert does not keep a copy of your video on a server.
Privacy
Your video stays on your device
This video compressor is designed for local processing. Priconvert does not upload your video to a backend for compression in the current version.
- Your video is read and compressed using your browser's own processing power.
- The one-time video engine download is public, non-personal code — not your video file.
- Priconvert does not receive or store the contents of your video on a server.
